As you have said to me... Holy mother of WOW! What lens did you have for this one? When ever I get even 30ft from a Heron they fly off... or were you in your hide?

Shot with a Canon 100-400mm L series. I sat still, and allowed the bird to approach my position. After about 20 minutes of waiting, it walked into frame, giving us a clear view of one another. It was about 50ft away, and didn't spook until we had each consumed lunch, and I stood up.
