They're in ranks, but out of step. .... nearly perfect then! At least they all have their black boots on. Very nice find. I have a tender spot for ducklings. Were you attacked by Mum for getting in so close or did you use your zoom?

@Helen: They approached me.

Shortly after, the seventeen of them went running, wings akimbo, for a clutch of two who also approached. The parents four gave me glances, but neither honked, nor nodded.

A Grizzly Adams moment which I'll treasure, and am fortunate to share.
