Matt! THIS IS FREAKIN' INCREDIBLE! What an absolutely amazing capture. I have seen these critters sitting in trees preening and looking about but never sleeping. Although I've just ranted on ... I am speechless.

I watched this PBS program about Joel Sartore (National Geographic Photographer), several times. When speaking to "what makes a great photo", a photo editor told Joel that capturing behavior that nobody sees is what makes a great photo. When Joe Schmoes like me only see humming birds flitting about the yard, or tucked beak first into a feeder or flower, it's compelling to see a sleeping humming bird. It's a great photo. Thanks for sharing it. SB
