Great series Matt. I am amazed by this tail. I am perhaps remarkably unobservant, but I have never seen anything like this before! I thought tortoises had stumpy or no tails. Once again you have amazed me. Off I go googling.

Catching up with missed photos. Love your turtle shots. What a beautiful animal. Looks prehistoric indeed. The tail looks like a crocodile tail to me.

Thanks for the many comments. My ego was recently dealt a blow by a local "gear-pig" acquaintance. Though I failed to kill him for the bruise, I thank you kindly for the salve. Some people just don't get it.
