@Jenny: Hi Jenny- Long time no comment. I still visit and enjoy your posts.

I hope my coming days posts will enlighten you as to why I find this new paint store feature disgusting and insulting. Please visit.

As I've commented before, the perception and control of light is the essence of photography. Your eye is more valuable to me than my own, as it perceives light differently than my own. To numerically quantify the work posted here in a chart (to be printed out and taken to a local hardware store) steals the soul of the efforts involved in photography.

It sickens me to see an art-form I've so admired quantified and slighted in such a way. I challenge you to stand in a room with an original Ansel Adams, and tell me it is nothing but a #000000-#FFFFFF scale. Likewise with an original O'Keeffe. Though her medium differed, it was her perception that mattered.

To quantify the works in this community in such a manner is no less of a sin.

As the visual arts progress, someone has to stand up for the visible spectrum, less it be reduced to a pile of hex. It is the perception of the individual that matters. If we allow visual perception to be quantified, we reduce it's very essence.

I don't perceive what you perceive, and take great joy and delight when allowed to see what you see.

I take great offense when told what I should perceive.
