Serendipity Strikes

I have been attempting to get a good shot of this nutria (a non-native water mammal also known as a coypu) for some time with no great success. It's bigger than some beavers in the area.

An accidental shutter click caught him/her observing a pair of (native) ring-necked ducks. Wetlands are quite the melting pot.

(Myocastor coypus and Aýthya colláris, respectively.)
