Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaIsn't he amazing? Just look at the subtle colour and pattern in those wing feathers! 13 Dec 2006 6:09am Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyAmazingly sharp close-up, well done! 13 Dec 2006 9:02am Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanHey Matt. blindingly good shot. Beautiful clarity again. 13 Dec 2006 3:03pm Darren from JapanNice shot mate. I thought this was a repost of your image on the 9th the I looked again and realized it was a different bird. 13 Dec 2006 4:03pm @Darren: Thanks! This is the same bird as the post on the 11th. His mate is under water in this shot, and he has just popped back up. In my high resolution copy, you can still see beads of water on him. Jim J from Portland, United StatesHi, nice shot of this hoodie. I liked your picture of Mt. Hood from a few days back and horsetail falls too. You must be in Portland. Did you find the merganser at the Rhody gardens or behind Reed? Are you an active birder as well as photographer? Funny to see pics from so close to home. 13 Dec 2006 5:12pm @Jim J: Thanks for the kudos. It's always nice to hear nice things from the locals, as we tend to become a bit immune to the beauty around here. I'm on the SW side, so I don't spend much time around Reed. Rhody gardens are everywhere, so I'm not sure which ones you are referring to. Though I have some wonderful contacts in the birding community, I am primarily a wildlife and nature photographer, and get just as worked up over a good marmot or wolverine shot as one of birds. Thanks again for stopping by, and looking around. Cheers. Matt Trujillo Photography from Portland, United States@ All: Thanks a million for the specific comments on clarity. This is a least common denomenator shot. The print version is more... just more. 13 Dec 2006 5:52pm Colour blind from Tokyo, JapanLong time no visit sorry, but you've done well with the clarity on this picture. The bird is very clear and quiet. It's not overly loud it's quite simple actually which is why it's good to stare at. 13 Dec 2006 7:08pm @Colour blind: Hi Kelly- Long time no comment is okay. Long time no visit makes me wonder who is racking up the hit counts on these images. Cheers. |
