Stu from Kyoto, Japanwow this is an awesome shot! echo aaron re the bird. your consistently posting cracking shots matt. loving your blog. 6 Dec 2006 6:16am Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaWonderful. I agree with Aaron, the bird is a nice touch. The scenery is phemonenal, but, the thing that sets this photo apart for me are the buildings in the foreground. They allow the viewer to appreciate the incredible scale of this imposing mountain. It is just hovering up there in the sky over the town. Just amazing. With those sorts of hills around, I can begin to appreciate the need for yesterday's tram! 6 Dec 2006 6:17am Matt Cauquil from Brussels, BelgiumWoaw, excellent composition with the city in the foreground and mt Hood in the background. As Jason mentionned, great light on the mountain. 6 Dec 2006 12:16pm Matt Trujillo Photography from Portland, United States@ All- For the kind words- Thanks! 6 Dec 2006 4:35pm Matt Trujillo Photography from Portland, United States@ Aaron, Stu, Helen and Duncan- The bird is part of the same group in the image posted 12-4. It happened that I was walking in the same direction they were flocking. 6 Dec 2006 4:41pm Matt Trujillo Photography from Portland, United States@ claireg - Your "this" is a might vague, so... Mount Hood is located in the Cascade range in northwest Oregon. It is a dormant volcano standing 3426 m. The shot was taken at the International Rose Test Garden, located in Washington Park, about ten minutes from downtown Portland, a portion of which is shown in the foreground. 6 Dec 2006 4:53pm Gnarf from Stockholm, SwedenThe nearby (relative to the mountain) houses gives the picture a nice depth. A real postcard picture :) 6 Dec 2006 7:19pm Still from VALENCE, FranceNice landscape... The town and the mountain in the same shot.. 6 Dec 2006 10:15pm Darren from Tokyo, JapanNice shot.
